Moorea Expedition Deposit
This non-refundable deposit will be applied against the total cost. The deposit will only be refunded in the case that an applicant is not accepted by PWB.
Join us on the island of Moorea in French Polynesia where you will learn about and make an unforgettable visual story about the ocean and its protectors. We will work alongside two local organizations that work to not only protect and educate about whales, but also to connect with the ocean.
Participants will stay in a villa close to the ocean and will be guided by local experts.
Dates: October 9-17, 2025
Last day to apply: August 9, 2025 or when full.

Day 1:
Ia orana! Fly or ferry into Moorea, French Polynesia October 9 and be greeted by our staff. Get settled in your villa and relax.
Day 2:
Start your journey learning about the Polynesian culture through storytelling, lei-making and dance. We will make our way to the water in the afternoon on a traditional canoe.
Day 3-7:
Spend your days out at sea searching for humpback whales, sail in a traditional canoe, go explore the lush landscape, and bring all your images together to support the two local organizations we will be working alongside.
Day 9:
It’s time to say mauruuru and set off on your next adventure. Leave from the Moorea ferry terminal or airport on October 17.
Optional activities: massage, scuba diving, snorkelling, and much more.
General notes:
Our Ethical Storytelling Certification is a pre-requisite for Expeditions and is included in the cost of logistics and administration for those who are not yet certified.
Participants must be PWB Professional Members.
We will always prioritize the safety of our guests. Water-related and other excursions are weather-permitting and subject to change. Wildlife are never guaranteed.
Participants must be comfortable and equipped for travelling, swimming, and documenting underwater.
Participants must be committed to sharing a completed set of images and/or video at the end of the Expedition with PWB and the community partner.

Pre-requisite: PWB Ethical Storytelling Certification (this will be offered to participants at no extra cost if they are not yet certified). Must be a PWB Professional Member.
